Civil defence

The purpose of civil defence is to protect the population from the ravages of war and other comparable disasters, as well as to limit the damage caused and to mitigate the consequences.

Civil defence includes warning the population of danger, sheltering people in civil defence shelters and moving them to a safer place, i.e. evacuation, provision of medical care, extinguishing fires and performing rescue operations.
