Security of supply refers to the ability to maintain the essential basic economic functions of society. These safeguard the living conditions of the population, the functioning and safety of society and the material prerequisites for national defence in the case of serious disturbances and emergency conditions.
The overall objective is security of supply based on international markets and national measures and resources. Essential infrastructure and critical production are to be secured in all situations.
In addition to national preparedness, the preparedness measures implemented in the EU will be utilised. National measures are taken to prepare for the most serious crises.
In emergency conditions, the livelihood of the population and the functioning of the economy will be secured, and national defence will be supported.
